Warriors down East Ridge, 15-3

The Warriors rebounded from a heart-breaking loss in OT to Boone last week by dismantling East Ridge Tuesday night, 15-3, in a district match-up at home.  Nick Poidomani led the Warriors with six goals and two assists in the victory.  Fellow senior attackman Connor McElvaney chipped-in with four goals of his own.

Logan Dyer helped lead the Warriors with two goals and two assists.

Warriors Win Opener, Poidomani Sets Record

The West Orange Warrior opened the 2014 season with a 17-1 victory over fellow District 13 member Lake Minneola on Tuesday night.  The Warriors were led by senior attackman Nick Poidomani, who recorded four goals and five assists on the night.  Poidomani's team-best nine points for the evening moved him to 229 for his career.  He is now the all-time leader in school history in career points, passing class of 2012's Alec Benkovich's 224 points.

Nick Poidomani is now the career leader in points at WOHS.

2014 Preview: Trust. Believe.

The 2014 incarnation of the West Orange varsity lacrosse team is one in which high expectations are abundant.  This is a squad that has one of the most robust rosters of returning talent seen in WOHS history, including five all-district honorees – three of which are returning All-Metro Conference selections.  With this depth in talent, look for the Warriors to strive towards their season goals of winning the conference and district titles and advancing in the state playoffs. 

To attain these goals, the Warriors are building their 2014 squad on the foundation of two pillars of teamwork: Trust & Believe.  Head coach Bill Baker has spent the preseason laying the groundwork for a more complex offense and defense in which the Warriors must trust and believe in not only themselves as individual players, but more importantly in their teammates in order to succeed.
