The Warriors rebounded from a
heart-breaking loss in OT to Boone last week by dismantling East Ridge Tuesday
night, 15-3, in a district match-up at home.
Nick Poidomani led the Warriors with six goals and two assists in the
victory. Fellow senior attackman Connor
McElvaney chipped-in with four goals of his own.
Logan Dyer helped lead the Warriors with two goals and two assists. |
The Warriors controlled possession
throughout the evening thanks to another impressive display at face-off,
winning 19 of 21 draws. Grant Malquist
was perfect from the X, going 10-0 overall.
Zach Malaussena was 7-1, while Hunter Fromberg went 2-1 in face-offs.
When the Knights did have
possession, they found it difficult to get any offense going thanks to the
strong performance on defense by Trenton McGee, Matt Cohn and Alex
Kuchalakos.
Logan Dyer led the midfield unit
with two goals and two assists. Malquist
added two goals of his own, while Malaussena assisted on three. Freshman Danny Luette scored his first career
goal for West Orange early in the second quarter.
The Warriors will take on Dr.
Phillips on the road Thursday evening, with JV starting at 6 pm followed by the
varsity game at 7:30pm.
