The varsity Warriors notched their first-ever victory at
Timber Creek on February 15 by an impressive score of 23-4. Eight Warriors
netted goals in the game and amassed a total of 20 assists.
The inspiring team play came with a number of individual records
set by senior midfielder Zach Malaussena and junior attackman Mikey Berkman.
Zach won a school-record 22 face-offs to propel the offense
throughout its dominant performance. More impressively, the face-off wins
officially made Zach the all-time leader in victories at the X in school
history, surpassing 2014-grad Grant Malquist’s previous mark of 519 wins.
Mikey’s night highlighted the offense with two school
records of his own. His 11 assists was the most-ever by a Warrior in a game,
passing the old mark of eight set by 2012’s Alec Benkovich. Mikey’s six goals
gave him a second school record with 17 total points scored, besting the
previous mark of 13 points set by 2015’s Lane Artope.
