Warriors Score Six-for-Six in UF Acceptance Letters!

Stephen Hoover, Alex Kouchalakos, Jonathan Finch, Daniel Luette, Zach Malaussena and Timothy Ye.
On Friday night, the Warriors traveled to Edgewater to take on the Eagles. For six seniors, the pressure of the evening was amplified. Not only were they preparing to play in their season’s first conference game, more importantly, these six Warriors were about to find out if they were accepted to the University of Florida.

Jonathan Finch, Stephen Hoover, Alex Kouchalakos, Daniel Luette, Zach Malaussena and Timothy Ye have not only been playing lacrosse together for years, but have also been exceptional students in the classroom throughout their high school career. Now they all had another thing in common: all six had applied for admission to UF.

About an hour before the first face-off, the group milled about Edgewater’s field while the JV teams played. Some weren’t sure if they wanted to know their fate before the game started. Those who wanted to know right away, began checking their phones.

The first senior checked: he got in! Then the second, and so forth. It soon blossomed into a chain reaction of congratulatory high-fives until the final player checked and received the same wonderful news.

Six-for-six! It was an amazing accomplishment for six remarkable young men who exemplify what it means to truly be a student-athlete.
